Here's how you can prepare for Opening Day

Equipment Donation Drive: Clean out those closets and drop new and gently worn baseball equipment to the Donation Drive sponsored by Alta Bates Summit Medical Center at Opening Day. OBA is thrilled to partner with Roberto’s Kids and Alta Bates to help give back to those in need! Reminders will follow. http://www.robertos-kids.org .

If you pre-ordered OBA logo apparel, it will be available for pick up at the Apparel table. Additional merchandise will be available at Opening Day for purchase.

Opening Day festivities will occur rain or shine at Wagner Ranch on the first Saturday of March. Players should arrive in full uniform and sneakers. Coaches: please wear your new jersey.

Parking

Parking will be permitted on the Wagner Ranch black top adjacent to the Mustang Field. Do not park in Red Zones (yes OPD will ticket you even on Opening Day). We suggest carpooling as parking fills up quickly. All cars parked on the black top must be gone by 1:15 as they will close the gates then.

Team Pictures

Team pictures are first. The schedule is posted below. Pinto group starts at 7:45AM. As a reminder, NO CLEATS in the Wagner gym for Opening Day.

In between pictures and the ceremony, there will be much to do including the ever popular 'SPEED GUN' machine. Orinda Motors will once again sponsor the "Guess how many Wiffle Balls fit into a car" game. So be sure to purchase a "game bracelet" which gives your children access to all the fun games and activities.

Skills Competition. New in 2012 will be Division-based skills competitions. Relay races, Around-the-horn and other team-based games will be held.

After pictures and carnival time, the line up for the Parade into the gym should be completed by 10:30. Please assemble as a team around 10:15 and proceed to back of the gym black top area.

At 11:00 everyone should be seated inside the Wagner gym for the very special Opening Day ceremony.

At 12:00 the famous sausage trucks of Best in Show will arrive. Old Fashioned Beef Hot dogs would be $3 and Evergood Sausages (chicken apple and hot links) would be $5. We will also sell southern-style pulled pork sandwiches for $6.  Best in Show will proudly donate 30% of the profits of the event to OBA.

Attention Coaches/ Team Mom: Please have your team arrive 15 minutes before the
scheduled photo time.
Once at the field:
Tips to help organize your team for photos
1. Check in with the Gentile representative (she will give you 2 pieces of paperwork for your team photos).
2. Line up all your players shortest to tallest
3. Have all shirts tucked in, hats on straight. Please remove all jackets and sweatshirts.
4. Players using their own bat or glove for the photos should have them with them in
line.
5. Any players taking buddy shots should have their buddy standing with them in line.
