View OBA Batting Cage Schedule
OBA maintains and operates batting cages to aid in player development. Located at Wagner Ranch, Managers and Coaches are encouraged to use the batting cage often to help develop their players’ batting skills. The batting cage should be reserved by Managers and Coaches in advance, and if there is a conflict, the team with a reservation will have first right. Bronco and Mustang teams will be given priority. However, all teams may use the cage based on availability.
Please note: During the season, the batting cage is available primarily for team use only; individuals, accompanied by their managers or coaches may use the cage during the off-season, or when the cage is not being utilized by a team.

To Reserve the Batting Cage:
· First, check the calendar to see if the cage is available at OBA Batting Cage Schedule. The cage is available 7 days a week. Time slots are in one hour increments. Generally, during team practices, teams may be allowed to reserve the cage for a 2 hour period.
· E-mail obabatting@yahoo.com with your first, second and third choices of day and time. We will use our best efforts to fulfill all requests. However, due to the number of teams, there may be conflicts. In those cases, priority will be assigned as follows:
- Bronco teams during practice times
- Mustang teams during practice times
- Bronco teams non-practice times
- Mustang teams non-practice times
- Pinto teams
- Tournament /Allstar teams will be given higher priority during year end
· Please submit your request at least one week in advance.
Any questions should be directed to your commissioner:
o Bronco Commissioner: Mike Casey caseymichaelp@yahoo.com
o Mustang Commissioner: Alan Metheny alan.metheny@morganstanley.com
o Pinto Commissioner: Greg Anderson andfive@comcast.net
Using the Batting Cage
Once you’ve scheduled a session, your Commissioner will give the Manager the combination to the cage lock, and the pitching machine container (to be installed). Upon completion of your session, please be sure to securely lock the batting cage. PLEASE NOTE: LOCK COMBINATIONS ARE CONFIDENTIAL AND NOT TO BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE OTHER THAN MANAGERS AND COACHES.
Using the Pitching Machine
Setting up the pitching machine is fairly straight forward. If you have any questions, please contact your Commissioner or Jon Joss. At the end of your session, ALWAYS make sure the machine is taken down and returned to the storage container (to be installed). DO NOT ASSUME the team following your practice will utilize the machine.
Abusing Privileges
OBA provides an instructive and competitive environment. Managers, Coaches and players are expected to apply appropriate behavior and actions when using the batting cage as well.
Leaving the pitching machine out or set up, leaving the cage unlocked, misusing, mistreating, or dangerous activity with any of the equipment will result in disciplinary actions. Actions may include forfeiture of practice sessions and/or further Manager, Coach or player discipline.
Please help us protect this important training tool so that as many players as possible can benefit from its use. |
