WDV BRONCO ALL STAR TEAM WINS PONY SECTIONAL

The West Diablo Valley (WDV) "WhaDeVers" Bronco-level All Star team, comprised of 11 and 12-year-old players from OBA and the Moraga Baseball Association (MBA), is off to a red hot start in PONY sanction play.  This past Sunday (July 13), they won the Vacaville PONY Sectional Tournament by beating El Cerrito Blue, 12-2.   

The Sectional Tournament began on July 7.  Never seriously challenged, the WDV team commenced its championship run by beating Fairfield 11-1, then downing Tara Hills 17-1, and finally defeating El Cerrito Blue in both the Semifinal Game (16-0; collective no-hitter) and again in the Championship Game. 

OBA representatives on the team are Drew Anderson, Logan Boersma, Henry Cassriel, Connor Nyman, Lance Pieper, Andrew Rosenzweig, and Clay Smudsky.  The team is managed by Milt Panagotacos, and coached by Doug Nelson (OBA) and Dave Singh (MBA).
