Post registration. What now?

I’ve Registered My Player, What’s Next?

Once OBA has received your registration form and payment, you have completed the registration process for your child.  Here’s what happens next:

Evaluations/Tryouts
Your player will be evaluated for his/her Division.  Each Division requires a certain minimum skill level to ensure player safety and to help create a positive experience for all players.

  1. Review the minimum skills required for each Division
  2. Find out the day/time for your player’s evaluation.  Please mark that date on your calendar!

Team Assignments
Once evaluations/tryouts are complete, players are selected for teams.  Please note that team assignments are done on a draft basis.  This means that requests for players to be placed with friends, or teams with players primarily from one school cannot be accommodated.

Once teams are selected, your player will be contacted by his/her Manager.  Your Manager will provide you with your team’s practice and game schedules, distribute uniforms, and communicate any other team particulars.

Your Manager will also distribute a Medical Release form, which you must complete in order for your child to play.

PCA Workshops
OBA supports the philosophy promoted by the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).  The goal of PCA is to create a playing environment that is emotionally rewarding for your child.

All parents are strongly encouraged to attend the parent workshops.  If you are new to OBA, it is especially important that you attend a workshop so that you better understand what OBA expects from the behavior of its coaching staff, players and parents.

  1. Find out more about PCA
  2. Look-up workshop dates and mark your calendar!

Opening Day

OPening Day
This marks the start of the OBA Spring Baseball season!  Your player will take individual and team pictures, and participate in the Opening Day Ceremony with their team.  There are games, raffles, food and fun for all!  Bring your whole family!
